Immerse yourself in a safe & sustainable haven where innovation meets tranquility on an almost entirely usable & nearly completely cultivated 1.15 hectare (2.8 acre) property with  great subdivision options and still more building sites to be utilized (within its’ established tropical permaculture landscape).

The rental is complete with many custom wood furnishings and major appliances, ready for occupancy. There are 3 houses and 2 cabins on this property, with 8 bedrooms and 2 other multiple purpose rooms that could be used as large bedrooms.  Each home and unit are described in detail (with rental prices & measurements) within the bullet point section of this description below.

Every detail of the property and infrastructure has been consciously designed with sustainability in mind, including the renewable energies of water and solar.  The property features a hybrid solar/utility  power system, grey water systems as well as an extensive rain water harvesting system, with storage and distribution through various means featuring a luxury rain water cold  plunge.  This unique part of the rain water collection system is a rock lined small pool that has a waterfall feature when it rains, and is  surrounded by extensive rock hardscaping, a gazebo and beautiful tropical landscaping.

All of the buildings have been  constructed with high quality and lasting materials, with a lot of  consciousness towards creating a home space that is non-toxic, healthy, and warm ambiance..The rock and brick walls of the main 3 story home not only add to the rustic charm, but also enhance the home’s  durability. The main house/retreat center has a chef’s kitchen, and the natural beauty of the surroundings is highlighted with mosaic tile art, in the kitchen, terrace and bathrooms.  Safety is paramount, and all the sleeping rooms have security on both the windows and doors. (with the use of tempered glass and wider frames interior sliding metal doors and steel framed window protection).

For maximum energy efficiency, pot lights and recess lights operate on the 12-volt DC battery system, reducing the ecological footprint. The imported solar system installed by the owner as an expert himself  ensures a self-sustaining and eco-conscious lifestyle. To further align with green living, a solar clothes dryer atrium has been thoughtfully incorporated behind the main house.

The construction of the principle building is to North American standards, especially in consideration of water issues, in the wet tropics. The ground  floor is a solid steel and cement construction with a foundation that  has a complete vapor barrier envelop and french drain system, to prevent  water damage or mold issues.   All roofs have water collection and most walls are steel framed throughout the many constructions on site. Humidity issues, mold, or structural cracks will never be issues here on this property.

Beyond the living  quarters, the property is a haven for permaculturalists, nature  enthusiasts and those wanting water and food security. The property has 7 different outbuildings and three different water systems: The property has connection to the  neighborhood irrigation system with 2,000 liters of storage tanks for  this water on site, there is rain-harvesting from all roofs accumulating  20,000 liters of stored water onsite, and the property has a potable  water system with 2,000 liter water reserve tanks for this source as well. There is also a future potential to add a shallow well in the lower level of the property to provide yet another water source.

The 1 hectare property has been cultivated with strictly organic permaculture practices for 12 years, restoring the regenerative  health of this property and establishing a mature food forest, with an  extensive variety of edible  and producing orchards, and nut groves.    Boasting a diverse and productive citrus orchard, intermixed with a  variety of avocado trees, mango, tropical cherry, mulberry, banana, three macadamia trees, as well as many exotic tropicals such as pineapple,  strawberry guava, tea tree, custard apples, such as the guanabana,  cherimoya and atamoya, as well as cashew, fig, and the exotic Jaboticaba,(brazilian tree grape) with its dark purple, sweet, vitamin C-rich fruit.   Throughout the permaculture gardens are garden beds producing a wide  variety of both native and North American food crops, herbs, and teas.   The tropical landscaping is not only food centered as beauty and  diversity are also important elements of regenerative permaculture and  the owners also planted a hardwood native tree grove, orchid and  bromeliad gardens as well as a sacred medicine garden. Please see the long list of plants and trees at the very bottom of this description below the photos.
